Fletcher, the environmental crime fighting parrot

Standard

Just wanted touch base. I’m making pretty good progress on The Big Belch drawings. Working on page 102 today. Going to be 110 for the novel itself and I’ll be taking a good friend’s suggestion and adding a back section with fossil fuels/climate change information.

I hope you’re surviving January 2014 OK – not snowed in or iced in or for the different side of the planet, dealing with drought. Climate change is aptly named I think. It does seem to be changing things up.

Thank you for supporting The Big Belch graphic novel project!

All the best,
Kay

PS – This is a drawing I did today of Fletcher, the environmental crime fighting parrot, friend and companion to fellow crime fighters; Monty, Maureen and François, the French bulldog.

Now working on page 94. Have a great Solstice, Holiday of your persuasion, and fantastic New Year!

P.S. – It’s four years since the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico and Louisiana is still cleaning up – 4.6 million pounds of oil just this year! Folks are still picking through tar balls on the tide line and who knows what else is going on. Maybe it’s time to give alternative energy a chance?

Think the idea of a methane explosion is far fetched?

Standard

Hey, think the idea of a methane explosion is far fetched? The permafrost in Siberia is leaking huge quantities right now and it’s really ratcheted up recently. YouTube videos of snow flaming up are impressive.

Just today I saw an article in the LA Times that methane coming up from the ocean in Santa Monica Bay created such a stench that the fire department started getting a ton of calls. And don’t forget those peat bogs.

We clearly need more parrots and French bulldogs to save the day!

And here it is – the moment when Harold brings Monty and Maureen into his troubles at MicroGreen, which are only just beginning.
