You might have noticed that I’m changing how I do the titles on my channel. God, I still get such a kick out of that. My channel. It should make it easier to find a particular movie, also to allow me to have a bit more fun with the titles. I’m all about having fun with life and even some serious issues. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized – my fellow baby boomers you know all about this – it really pays to have a sense of humor. Life is so much easier if one doesn’t take oneself too seriously. I’m just making it up as I go along.
I realized today just how much I depend upon the internet when I had some, fortunately fairly short lasting, connection problems. Solved now so I can post this early sketch of Fletcher from a panel on page 4 of The Big Belch.
Hard to believe I’m still only starting page 4. But too much time is spent on everything else that needs doing of course.
I seem to be getting more into making these movies into a diary of sorts instead of my original plan to just talk about the artist process.
This may be good, as it looks like what with one thing and another, and there always is another thing, that finishing the work on “The Big Belch” is going to take a while.
Today I went to the studio and started working on “The Big Belch” while listening to the radio. A show came on about how cruel and nonsensical the new Voter ID is and I just had to stop and do a movie.
OK here’s the continuation on my meditations I guess you could say on stuff we all have to deal with – and about art too – “Creating The Big Belch graphic novel 9 – Big stuff.”
It’s surprising how some seemingly simple things turn out to be more complex than planned. Of course sometimes the reverse is true too – at least with art.
Got another study for a panel with an irate Deepwater looking at a report for page 3 – or at least I think it will be on page three. Got no drawing done yesterday and just this one today.
Been running around like crazy last couple days. I just managed to do one study of Deepwater’s hand crumpling some paper – containing unfavorable stock information for Bigoil.
It just gets to me sometimes how much little stuff we all have to deal with every day. So here’s movie #8.
